The people who follow me on 4square and/or instagram (a few because my account was locked and now it's open but I barely use it), you saw how I went to dinner super early on Saturday and forced myself to stya out until nine. What you don't know is how this all started. I don't know how we got here, but the SO and I are super boring with nothing left to do but move to Florida and watch our grandkids for two weeks in the summers.
*sigh*
DInner went alot quicker than we planned. But we refused to go home at 7:45. Who does that? People who go to diner at 3:30, not young and hip people! So we stopped to have drinks and hookah. It is a spot we frequent and as we were seated, we asked to be seated at a table that would stop a large party from coming and making too much noise. And when our hookah and drinks were done and the bill was paid (he called for it at 8:45), at 9:04, we packed ourselves up and went home.
*sigh*
We acted like we had a babysitter who was being paid until 10:00. Thing is we don't. All we have are 'us'. 'We' should be able to and willing to stay out after 9:00 on a weekend! I'm certainly not saying we should be at a club or anything. But even when we are in a festive environment (beach with friends) we took it into the tent sumer early and went to sleep while the rest kicked it.
*sigh*
As we were walking to the car, the absolute worst shyt happened. This young lady was walking towards us talking on the phone. This heffa young lady says, "Looks it's not my fault you live way out in Virginia where the people who go out are all [exact age we are]." We looked at each other, shrugged, laughed, and still went home.
I knew the anti-club phase of my life was in full swing. I don't see the point of standing in crowded spaces with music so loud I can't speak to my bartender. If there's no seating and it's too loud, I pass (save for HU Homecoming which I'm obligated to attend). I prefer to wrap up my night early. But when we plan all week to 'go out' and talk about 'getting it in' and both agree that 9:00 is a respectable time to end the night, up is down and down is left.
